2019 Volnay Carelle Sous la Chapelle

The 2019 Volnay Carelles Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru comes across just a bit smudged on the nose compared to its peers, with earthy red fruit, white pepper and perhaps a little whole bunch here. Medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins, the palate is tensile, mineral-driven and a little on the spicy side. I admire the manner in which this maintains control right through to the finish and provides the sapidity that beckons you back for another sip. Bon vin . Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
