Score 88/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1998

The only old Soutard I had the privilege of tasting was the 1955. I am sure at one time it was an unbearably rustic wine, but the tannins have largely melted away, even though the wine is still relatively firm. The result is a rich, full-bodied, mineral-scented wine offering gobs of black fruits (plums) in its taste. Last tasted 1989
