The 1978 Richebourg Grand Cru has a simple, loamy nose that lacks a bit of fruit. The palate is quite animally with sour cherries and notes of chestnut. It certainly misses the complexity of a top-flight Richebourg, closing with an unwanted chewy finish. Tasted at the 1978 Bouilland horizontal.
