Tasting notes
Deep red with ruby highlights. Brooding, musky aromas of dark berries, cola and earth. Densely packed, chewy and sweet, with a high pitch to its sappy, lightly saline flavors of dark berries, kirsch and chocolate. A seriously structured wine for the year, and in need of bottle aging.

Bright ruby; Boillot's '07s are some of the darkest wines I saw on the Cote de Beaune. The aromas of black cherry, licorice and leather show terrific floral lift. Then compellingly sweet and sappy in the mouth, with thoroughly ripe flavors of black cherry, dark berries, flowers and minerals. Elegant and classy wine, carrying a moderate 12.8% alcohol. Finishes very long, with suave, dusty tannins that are almost invisible today.
About the producer

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
