Tasting notes
The 2014 Fayat has an intense bouquet with bold black cherry, blueberry and iodine scents, a little ostentatious compared to its peers, although you cannot deny the purity here. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-like entry, almost Burgundy like in terms of tannic structure with vivid red cherry and kirsch notes tinged with blood orange. It is almost as if this Pomerol wants to please too much and you seek a little restraint on the finish. But there is a sense of charm here that perhaps has been missing in previous vintages of Fayat; the silky finish will give it wide appeal.

The 2014 Fayat is floral, perfumed and savory, with good depth to its red toned fruit. Feminine and gracious, this fairly quiet, hushed Pomerol should drink well with minimal cellaring.
The 2014 Fayat is quite bold and savory, with plenty of black cherry, sage, lavender, new leather and juniper berry nuances. The flavors are vibrant and direct in an immediate if somewhat quirky Pomerol that will drink well relatively early. The fresh, cool style of the year is quite evident.
