Good bright red. Perfumed aromas of red fruits, spices and rose petal complicated by menthol and earth nuances. In an elegant if rather wound-up style, with discreet red fruit flavors nicely supported by savory minerality. Very good material and inner-mouth tension here. Rising raspberry and spice flavors blow past the tannins on the persistent perfumed back end.

(50% new oak; 20% vendange entier ; from south-facing vines in the climat Combe d'Orveaux): Deep red with ruby highlights. Aromas of redcurrant, chocolate and earth. Fat, silky and sweet, but with lovely sappy definition for such a lush, thick wine. Fine-grained, smooth and long on the aftertaste, but in need of time to express itself. Excellent potential here.
The 2013 Echézeaux Grand Cru, which is matured in 50% new oak, has a tightly wound but nicely defined, very focused bouquet that has fine underlying minerality. The palate is well defined with fine tannins, hints of vanilla and dark chocolate infusing the red berry fruit with quite a commercial, but undeniably sensual, finish. This should give much pleasure over the next 10-15 years.
