Tasting notes
The 2014 Carla 6, La Massa's 100% Sangiovese, is fabulous. Super-expressive, bright and nuanced to its core, it possesses remarkable harmony and persistence. The dark red cherry, plum, mint and licorice flavors are beautifully delineated, and attractive floral notes gradually open up to add lift. This is the best vintage of the Carla 6 yet.

The 2014 Carla 6 is a beautiful expression of Sangiovese from Panzano in Chianti. The wine sports a rather lean and streamlined style, but don't be deceived because there is ample depth and power to hold up the rear. The bouquet is bright and caressing with wild cherry, dried cassis, rose bud and moist clay earth. That earthy quality is so beautifully indicative of the Chianti territory. The house style, with that extra extraction and richness, comes through loud and clear. The wine ages for 14 months partially in new oak and partially in cement vats. Only 3,000 bottles were produced in this lower-yielding vintage.
