Tasting notes
From a parcel on the border with Puligny-Montrachet, this has a rich fruit profile with ripe beach and buttery notes. It’s expressive and playful, concentrated on the palate with impressive weight on the mid-palate. It’s not as elegant as La Pièce sous le Bois or Perrières, but it’s got its own style – one that speaks of its site on the long, nuanced finish. Aged in a third new oak, three barrels were produced.

Outstanding - Smoky mineral reduction, pear and apple compote, spice and a broad-ranging array of floral elements are trimmed in all but invisible wood. The succulent and very rich medium weight flavors are quite generous while retaining ample punch and reasonably good detail on the clean, dry and youthfully austere finale. While this has the potential to repay up to a decade of keeping, it should be reasonably approachable after only 4 to 5 years if you're short on patience. Drink 2031+
There is no Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru produced in 2023, though it will return in 2024.
A solid mid lemon colour. Plenty of weight to the orchard fruit on the nose, and grows nicely on the palate, picked a little later with some fresh apricot and ripe citrus. Flows nicely at the finish.
About the producer

Alvina Pernot is one of the most exciting producers of white Burgundy today. Based in Puligny-Montrachet with some incredible vineyards, this is a name to watch – creating taut and mineral styles of white Burgundy.
