Score 89/100 · Drink 2025-2033, Neal Martin, Oct 2025

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Champs Gain 1er Cru has a fragrant nose that unfurls with aeration, apple blossom and light granite aromas. The palate is nicely balanced with a twist of sour lemon on the entry. You could describe this as a "dainty" Puligny, perhaps not long term but thoughtfully crafted. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
