Another rich, ripe, sweet wine that puts the 2021 in a good light! (JR)

New acquisition. A 0.45-ha south-east-facing plot at the top of the slope. Vine age 35–50 years. 50% whole bunches. 17 months in 20% new oak. They made only 1.5 barrels in 2021 so the wine was not released in 2023 but will be released in 2024 alongside the five barrels made in 2022 (in 2023 there were seven). Bright, see-through crimson. Savoury nose. Much less sweet than the Moreys. Real class and almost flashy! Real complexity and appetising character. Pure and layered. Tannins almost covered by that energetic fruit. (JR)
0.45 ha (1.1 acres). Bought from Christophe Perrot-Minot, will be organic from 2024. Tank sample. Mid-pale ruby. Very perfumed. Rose, incense and spice. Red cherries and raspberry. There’s lovely elegance and a featherlight touch. Ripe, soft structure and fine tannins. (MH)
