The northernmost slice of this cool climat next to Le Montrachet. Average vine age 70 years. 17 months in 15% new oak. Livelier, more mineral and fresher nose than the Folatières. Tighter and leaner but no shortage of promising fruit underneath. Lots of lemon and length. Convincingly different from the Folatières. (JR)

Devauges notes that the far edge of this plot within Le Cailleret Premier Cru abuts the Montrachet vineyard. 12% new oak. Tank sample. Lemon. Citrus and white flowers on the nose. Less strident acidity than the Folatières and some yeasty complexity adding richness and body. Very harmonious. A touch of bitter lemon, too, adding to the apple and elegant white peach. Very complete and long. (MH)
