Tasting notes
Notes of citrus oil, lemongrass and pastry cream introduce the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières, a medium-bodied, chiseled wine that's bright and delicate, concluding with a saline finish. Picked early, it has retained freshness, but time will tell if it ever displays the plenitude of a great Puligny.

Harvested on 7 September along with the Clos du Cailleret, 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru had been racked into tank for bottling end of January. It has a pretty nose with orange blossom and light apricot aromas, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with orange cordial on the entry, hints of marmalade with a rounded passion fruit tinged finish. Not complex or mineral drive, but delicious in its own way.
