Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers has a feral, inky nose that suggests a little brettanomyces that denudes this of terroir expression. It develops a potent seaweed-like tang with aeration. The palate feels hard on the entry, brusque and slightly bitter, finishing a little short. I was expecting a little more from this -- perhaps it just needs more time? Tasted September 2016.

Broad ruby. Stewed tea, less readable nose. Prunes and walnuts and real life here. Still a bit dry on the end. A bit too drying on the end though. (JR)
