Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2022, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020

One of the top wines at the estate is the 2017 Saint Joseph Blanc Le Berceau, which comes from old-vine Marsanne in Tournon's lieu-dit Saint-Joseph. Buttered pear and muskmelon notes mark the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, plump, round and harmonious. Hints of baking spices add interest to the soft, lingering finish. While I've indicated a rather short/young drinking window, I wouldn't be completely surprised if well-stored bottles were still performing well after a decade.

Made from 100% Marsanne, from the oldest vines of the estate, the 2017 Saint Joseph Le Berceau Blanc offers more minerality as well as notes of spiced white peach, quince, cumin, and white flower. Rich, textured, balanced, and pure, it has rock solid mid-palate density, thrilling purity, and a great finish. Don't miss it. It won't be the longest-lived vintage for this cuvée, but it's thrilling stuff.
