Aromas of raspberries and cherries mingling with hints of licorice, dark chocolate and a floral top note of rose petals introduce the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle, a medium to full-bodied, fine-boned wine with a lively spine of acidity, powdery structuring tannins and a bright core of fruit, concluding with a youthfully chalky finish.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru comes from single parcel just under 0.40 hectares. It has a very detailed, pure bouquet of perfumed red cherry, wild strawberry and violet petal aromas that unfurl in the glass, the two-thirds whole cluster barely discernible. The lightly spiced palate is medium-bodied and well balanced, with a fine line of acidity and a harmonious, silky-smooth finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a gorgeous, refined Gevrey-Chambertin that will give 20–30 years of drinking pleasure.
