Tasting notes
Notes of wild berries, peonies, orange rind, spices and beetroot introduce the 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village, a medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping wine that's textural and charming, its powdery structuring tannins concealed in a lavish core of fruit. Derived largely from prime lieu-dit Aux Jachées, this will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village is matured with 20% whole bunch. The 50% new oak is better integrated that I would have expected, allowing red berry fruit mixed with pressed iris and incense to flourish. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, good acidity, a dash of white pepper and a cohesive and quite persistent finish. This has good potential.
