Tasting notes
The 2018 La Cumbre is 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier à la Côte-Rôtie with a powerful and concentrated profile from a very good harvest that allowed them to get a ripe wine with 14% alcohol, good freshness and better integrated oak than in the past. The wine went through an élevage in 15% Stockinger foudre and the rest in barrels, still 60% of them new. It has a juicy palate and moderate varietal character, coming through as soft and sleek with round tannins and a dry finish. 7,365 bottles were filled in February 2020.
