The 2021 Clos de Guichaux is sourced from vines planted in 2003 on shallow soil over limestone. It's an oaked, nutty, savory style with a real sense of precision and verve. Focused, taut yet with tenderness on the light-bodied mid-palate, finishing with a chalky texture. Smart stuff with energy and tension. It is good now but will be better with more time in bottle. Note that the wines poured had been opened for more than five days and were tasting as they were meant to be...
