Coming from younger vines on the estate (both from the plateau and the hillside), the 2020 Annonce De Belair-Monange is 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It brings considerably more density and structure, offering terrific black cherry, redcurrant, tobacco, truffly earth, and sandalwood nuances. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, and balanced, it shows the vintage’s structure and power and is going to evolve and drink nicely for a solid 10-15 years. It's a beautiful second wine well worth your time and money.
The 2020 Annonce de Bélair-Monange is a rich, heady wine. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, licorice, espresso, menthol and dried rose petals all race out of the glass. This exuberant second wine will be hard to resist young, but it also has the depth to age. I must say, the flamboyant style is hugely appealing.
