Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2050, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Feb 2025

The 2022 Riesling Réserve is from top vineyards in Ribeauvillé and Bergheim that haven't been sourced for the grands crus but are partly seriously old. Bottled in April 2023 and already released, the wine displays a clear and refined, intense and elegant bouquet of fully ripe and spicy fruits but also remarkably floral talents. The wine is lush and intense on the refined and elegant palate, provided with some Muscat-like aromas, ripe, saline acidity and very fine tannins. The finish is harmonious, fruit-intense and backed up by a serious mineral structure. Superb. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

Already on the nose this has a terrific interplay of stone fruit and herbal freshness with a tantalizing touch of spices. You feel the power and concentration of Alsace dry riesling from a warm, dry vintage, but also a wonderful citrusy freshness. A delicate chalky minerality echoes through the very long finish. 100% from estate vineyards in Ribeauville and Bergheim. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Riesling Réserve is mostly picked on limestone soils, including the Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru. A lovely stoniness defines the nose, with a serene chamomile and bright lemon lift. The palate adds rounded, generous, juicy Mirabelle fruit to this, edged with an ethereal herb savor, sinking into that deep, cool depth of the limestone. The 2022 is stony, bright, juicy, lip-smacking and taut. This is very Trimbach. (Bone-Dry)
