The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a more tertiary nose with red fruit mixed with gravel and sous-bois scents, quite open-knit and less primal than its peers. This has impressive delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple lace-like tannins, beautifully balanced and svelte in texture with gentle grip. Composed and quite effortless on the finish, this is a gifted Chambolle that exceeds expectations. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Perfumed with more obvious appeal than the Clos des Mouches Rouge. Lots of fruit but lots of acidity and structure and interest too. Well done! (JR)
