Score 88-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2006

Medium ruby. Aromas of currant, game, coffee, mocha and bitter chocolate. Sweet, dense and gamey but rather closed, even tough, today, with a medicinal black cherry flavor. Finishes with broad tannins and very good length.

Cask sample. Sweet and lively. Round and easy, but not Grand Cru level. Rich and alcoholic, but not fine. Dry and quite tough.  (JR)
