Tasting notes
The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos de L’Arlot 1er Cru was completely de-stemmed, unlike recent vintages. This is obvious on the nose that is very different from the 2017, more fruit-driven, less sous-bois character with dark cherries, wild strawberry and light briary aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, very smooth and refined, a little more saline than the 2017, although I miss the whole bunch element towards the finish. Tasted at the Domaine de L’Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot 1er Cru was absolutely riddled with TCA. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
Translucent garnet. Complex though discreet nose. And lovely resolved tannins plus masses of fruit on the palate. Still with fine tannins and some distance to go but you could certainly enjoy it already with food. (JR)
Ta nk sample. Creamy, bright, tight citrus with a hint of creamy oak. Herbal freshness on the palate, subtle but present oak. Lovely tension to balance the depth of fruit. Long and precise. (JH)
