The 2018 Morellino di Scansano is fresh, bright and absolutely delicious. Sweet red cherry, spice, cedar, mint and tobacco all jump out of the glass in a fresh, vibrant Morellino that offers tons of character, depth and personality. Aging in steel keeps the flavors bright.

The 2018 Morellino di Scansano shows nice freshness and very decisive primary fruit. It is a sharp and zippy Morellino, carrying some tones of bitter almond and candied orange peel at the back of forest berry and wild cherry. The blend is 85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante and 5% Ciliegiolo. This is an easy-drinking red that would feel right at home next to a cheesy baked eggplant dish.

Plums and spices with hints of chocolate and hazelnuts. Perfumed. Medium body, soft tannins and a savory finish. It’s complex with a cherry, light chocolate and walnut aftertaste. Blend of mostly sangiovese with ciliegiolo and alicante. Drink or hold.
