Tasting notes
An outstanding, supple, and nicely textured wine, the 2023 Château Cap De Faugères offers blue fruits, liquid violets, tobacco, and chalky, damp earth aromatics on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has notable purity, fine tannins, and a nicely balanced, rounded mouthfeel. Drink this charming Castillon over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2036.

The 2023 Cap de Faugères is bold, racy and super expressive. Dark cherry/plum fruit, mocha, dried herbs, menthol and licorice build nicely in the glass. Lovely savory and earthy undertones support the vibrant, open-knit finish.
An attractive nose of elderberries and blackberries with graphite and violet undertones. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with polished tannins that gain focus, complemented by freshness that adds definition. Balanced and serious. Drinkable now, but better from 2026.
Licorice, black cherries, and chocolate create the forward, soft, round, and creamy character here. Medium-bodied, with freshness, and energy, this is going to be delicious on release. The wine was blended with 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2026-2036.
