The fruit is perfectly ripe and intertwined with the mineral aromas and there is nothing round or dominant here. It is pure, clear, rich and powerful. This is an incredible new dimension for German Riesling brought by Mathieu Kauffmann, an Alsatian who got famous in Champagne. This Pechstein is so tightly woven, so pure, elegant and piquant. It is so rich, ripe and concentrated, but all is in balance... it flows, touches, hooks up into your mucosa and remains, remains, remains; it only gets softer, more generous and lush, and less merciless.
