The 2021 Corton La Vigne au Saint Grand Cru offers darker fruit than its peers with a mixture of blackcurrant, wild strawberry, hints of sous-bois and crushed stone. It coheres pleasingly with aeration and the oak is neatly integrated. The palate has a sorbet-fresh entry with notes of orange zest infusing the zesty red fruit, although it feels a little saccharine towards the finish compared to its peers, more winery than vineyard-made, at least at the moment. However, this does improve in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Corton La Vigne Au Saint Grand Cru has a complex nose with dark berry fruit, tea leaf and light undergrowth scents - very focused and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with the 100% whole bunches lending a conspicuous pepperiness. This is very Dujac in style with a fresh finish. There may be too many stems for this cuvée, but it makes for an intriguing wine.
Vinified without any destemming, Croix's 2021 Corton Grand Cru La Vigne Au Saint exhibits aromas of cherries and red berries mingled with peonies and spices, without any of the feared herbaceous qualities that led so many to destem comprehensively in this vintage. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and an expansive finish, it's a success.
