Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru les Caillerets from Domaine Marc Colin has a very refined bouquet with beautiful lime flower and lemon sherbet scents, the oak well integrated and the aromatics full of energy. The palate is fresh and crisp, a fine line of acidity, quite saline in the mouth with a feisty, ginger-tinged finish. This is very cerebral.
