Tasting notes
Lightly peppery nose that suggests some lovely sweet fruit to come. Lots of fruit intensity. Dry finish. Really spicy fruit but enough acidity and tannins to suggest that patience will be required. (JR)

The 2021 Volnay Fremiet 1er Cru has a very pure and open bouquet, perfumed red cherry and wild strawberry fruit laced with wilted rose petals. Not powerful yet nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle but insistent grip, more structure than the Clos des Angles with a touch of white pepper towards the finish. Fine persistence. This is a Volnay to cherish over the next 15-20 years.
The 2021 Volnay 1er Cru Fremiet opens in the glass with aromas of exotic spices, wild berries, orange zest and forest floor, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate underpinned by lively acids and powdery tannins.
