Another high point of the négoce portfolio is the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges (Maison Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated wine evocative of wild berries, woodsmoke, orange rind and spices. Layered and vibrant, it's worth seeking out.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru felt rather smudged on the nose and the palate came across rather oaky, perhaps exaggerated by the vivacious Vaucrains that preceded it. I think I will judge this bottling as there is probably some reduction here.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
