Score 95/100 · Drink 2024-2044, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2024
A sensational value in top white Hermitage, the 2020 Hermitage Blanche from Chave is his usual 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, which sees more tank aging than the estate release. It's a beautiful wine, with classic Hermitage notes of ripe quince, green almonds, honeysuckle, and toasted, spicy nuances. Medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with beautiful richness, it's a slightly fresher, more mineral-laced example of Jean-Louis's Grand Vin. Buy a case and enjoy bottles over the coming two decades.
