Medium brick red in hue, the 2019 Barolo Brunate Docg is spicier, with more forward notes of licorice, tea leaf, dried cranberries, irony earth, and blood orange. It has a more chiseled structure while staying light on its feet, with a clean finish, good, even length, and evenly balanced acidity. It’s more noble and retains very nice purity and freshness. Drink 2024-2040.

The 2019 Barolo Brunate is a hard wine to taste, as it is clearly vegetal in profile. It shows good depth, but the aromas and flavors are also advanced. I tasted two bottles. The first was aggressively vegetal, while the second was both less green but also more forward in its profile.
