Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2027-2037, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Independent, May 2024

The 2023 Tauzinat l'Hermitage is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a little coaxing to bring out notes of juicy raspberries, kirsch, and rosebud tea with wafts of wild sage and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate delivers a good core of fruit, with soft tannins and a savory finish.

Starts off with a kick of grilled cedar, high acidity, silky textured tannins, a little short on the finish but has charm and high spice. Yield 20hl/h, 30% new oak for ageing.

Although the aromas suggest a wine that just approaches ripeness, the palate is smooth enough, with ripe plum and blackberry plus a touch of vanilla. Ageing in 30% new oak.
