The 2023 Olivier Blanc is a deep, powerful white, but it's also a bit rough around the edges. Dried lemon peel, chamomile, herbs and floral overtones are front and center. It would be nice to see a bit more finesse.
The 2023 Olivier Blanc has a steely and focused bouquet with plenty of green apple, gooseberry and crushed stone scents that have a sense of purpose. The palate is fresh and vibrant, more malic in style, strict, in the positive sense of the word, with a refined and persistent finish. This delivers on the promise from barrel.
Crushed citrus, mint flowers, and hints of spicy wood all emerge from the 2023 Château Olivier Blanc, a juicy, elegant, medium-bodied white that shines for its purity and freshness, as well as its length. It's easily an outstanding white in the making.
About the producer

Ch. Olivier is one of the few actual castles in Bordeaux – coming with a moat and drawbridge. Since Alexandre de Bethmann took over here in 2012, the château has been given a new lease of life, with quality on the rise.
