A touch old school in style yet certainly loaded with character, the 2023 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry is based on 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot and aged 15 months in 60% new oak. Ripe red and black fruits, new saddle leather, and savory herbs all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with good concentration, borderline rustic tannins, solid mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. It has good overall balance and will keep for two decades in a cold cellar. Drink 2026-2046.

The 2023 Malescot St. Exupéry is a powerful, brooding wine. A blast of dark cherry fruit, plum, new leather, licorice, incense, tobacco, dried herbs, iron and chocolate makes a strong opening statement. Firm tannins wrap it all together in a decidedly potent, explosive Margaux.

The 2023 Malescot Saint-Exupéry is quite discreet on the nose, light brambly black fruit commingling with cedar and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Well-balanced and harmonious, there is a patina of oak to be assimilated on the finish, but it has commendable elegance with a dash of black pepper on the aftertaste. Discreet, but classy.

Rocking red and black fruits, spicy wood, savory herbs, and sandalwood notes all define the 2023 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry, and it's medium-bodied, supple, and elegant on the palate, with beautiful tannins. It's another impressively textured, balanced Margaux in the vintage that has ample charm and character.
