The 2023 Les Gravières, 100% Merlot, is a very delicate, aromatic Saint-Émilion. In most years, Les Gravières is distinctly savory and mineral, but in 2023, the wine is much more floral and red-toned in character. Tasted two times.

The 2023 Les Gravières has a light bouquet with earthy black fruit laced with black tea and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with a sharp entry, a touch of soy infusing the black fruit, cohesive in style, with just a little bitterness on the finish. It just needs a little more brightness.
Tasted twice with consistent notes, the 2023 Château Les Gravières should easily be an outstanding wine. Smoky red and black fruits, peppery herbs, graphite, and a kiss of background oak define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with the vintage's focused, straight style, good mid-palate depth, and ripe yet building tannins.
Chocolate-covered black cherries, plums, flowers, with a strong mineral essence, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh, forward, and fruity, finishing with licorice, dark cocoa, and red pit fruits from start to finish. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot.
