Tasting notes
Ripe citrus, honeyed orange, white flowers, and spicy, mineral nuances all define the 2023 Château La Louvière Blanc, a terrific Pessac-Léognan white based on 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has integrated, high acidity, beautiful balance, and a great finish. This is getting up there with the crème de la crème of the vintage and will offer plenty of pleasure over the coming decade or more. Drink 2026-2037.

The 2023 La Louvière Blanc has a well-defined bouquet with bright yellow plum and patisserie scents. Fine focus. The palate is well balanced with a keen thread of acidity, fresh and tensile with a touch of ginger on the finish. Drink over the next decade.
The 2023 Château La Louvière Blanc is terrific, with classy notes of ripe pineapple, crushed citrus, and subtle minty herbs. It's balanced and has a round, layered texture as well as a clean finish. It certainly brings the fruit and texture of the vintage and will shine in its youth.
The white La Louviere 2023 rockets out with notes of key lime pie, fresh pineapple, and sliced apples, followed by touches of coriander seed and wet slate. Medium-bodied, the palate is tightly wound, with great tension and loads of mineral sparks, finishing on a lingering chalky note.
About the producer

Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
