Coming from gravelly clay soils in the Haut-Médoc, the 2023 Château D'Agassac is a very perfumed, elegant effort offering red fruits, spice, loamy earth, and floral notes. Based on 51% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Cabernet Franc and aged 12-15 months in 50% new French oak with 40% in tank and 10% in amphora, it's medium-bodied and nicely balanced on the palate, with integrated oak and a good finish. I like it today, and it should drink well over the coming 10-12 years. Drink 2026-2037.

The 2023 d'Agassac is gorgeous. Sweet floral notes, cedar, pipe tobacco, menthol, dried herbs and mocha are beautifully amplified in this mid-weight, aromatic Haut-Médoc. The 2023 is lifted, finessed and compelling. Commendable. Tasted two times.
The 2023 d’Agassac has a fragrant nose with blackberry, raspberry and light rose petal scents, the oak here neatly integrated. The palate is a little oaky on the entry, though it feels smooth and quite seductive, a little lower in acidity than its peers, with a touch of black pepper on the finish. Should be approachable after 18 to 24 months.
Ample leafy herbs, sappy flowers, cedarwood, and both red and black fruits emerge from the 2023 Château Croizet-Bages, a charming, medium-bodied, graceful Pauillac that has ripe tannins, the fresher, juicy, yet balanced style of the vintage, and a good finish.
