Tasting notes
The 2023 Clos de Boüard has quite a feisty nose, with cracked black pepper infusing the black fruit on the nose, maybe a little unrefined but there is plenty of energy. The palate is medium-bodied, with slightly rigid tannins on the entry. Peppery in style, a little austere toward the finish, it just needs more light and joie-de-vivre.

Quite floral in its nature, the wine is fresh, fruity, elegant, lively, and packed with crushed rocks, sweet cherries, spice, espresso, licorice, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with sweetness, and ripe berries with hints of salty cocoa, and racy acidities, this will offer pleasure in its youth, as well as age for over a decade. The wine blends 85% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.
A blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2023 Clos de Bouard has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It features evocative notes of cranberry preserves and redcurrant jelly, followed by hints of cardamom, mint tea, and pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate delivers lively red berry flavors, with fine-grained tannins and a lifted finish.
A red with crunchy and juicy fruit, as well as powdery tannins that spread across the palate. Medium body. Subtle finish. Elegant. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.
