A classic, impeccably balanced white, the 2023 Château Carbonnieux Blanc sports a medium gold hue as well as ripe citrus and stone fruits intermixed with minty herbs and a kiss of minerality. Based on 68% Sauvignon Blanc and 32% Sémillon and brought up 10 months on the lees in 70% French oak barrels (20% new) with the balance in 30- and 55-hectoliter wooden vats, it's medium-bodied and has a clean, focused mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It will shine on the dinner table over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2036.

The 2023 Carbonnieux Blanc has a simple nose that misses the intensity and complexity of the preceding white from Château Olivier. The palate is balanced, at least with fine acidity. But it feels a bit dilute on the mid-palate and lacks much in the way of personality on the finish. Disappointing, given some of the splendid mature vintages tasted.

The 2023 Château Carbonnieux Blanc is light gold-hued and offer terrific aromatics of ripe citrus, minty herbs, and a kiss of grapefruit. These carry to a medium-bodied white with a round, supple texture, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length.

Granny Smith apples, flowers, lemon rind, honeysuckle, white peach, and pineapple is there with just a swirl or two in the perfume. Vibrant, fresh, and fruity with sweetness, spice, roundness, finishing with pineapples, white peach, and lemon curd, with the touch of crushed sones in the backend. The wine blends 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon.
