Red and black fruits, dried flowers, spicy herbs, and chocolaty nuances all define the 2023 Château De Camensac, a classic Haut-Médoc that's medium-bodied, balanced, and satisfying. Based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot and aged 16-18 months in barrel, it has a nicely rounded mouthfeel, ripe tannins, integrated acidity, and a good finish. This is a solid, well-made 2023 to enjoy over the coming 15-20 years. Drink 2026-2046.

The 2023 Château de Camensac has a commendable, well-defined bouquet, classic Médoc style with black fruit and light gravel and tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm but fine tannins, fresh with a fine bead of acidity and a sapid finish. Good potential and a slight improvement from its barrel showing.

Aromas of blackberries, herbs and fresh tobacco. The medium- to full-bodied palate shows an even thread of dark fruit and fine-grained tannins that bring precision and definition to the finish. A subtle savory note adds dimension and charm. Approachable now with aeration or food, but will improve over the next couple of years. Drink or hold.

Sappy herbs, flowers, and subtle cedar notes all emerge from the 2023 Château de Camensac, a more red-fruited, pretty, medium-bodied, elegant 2023. It shows the fresher, mid-weight style of the vintage, yet I love its balance and complexity.
