Honeyed peach, orange blossom, and exotic floral notes define the 2023 B De Bastor Lamontagne, a richer-styled, 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Pessac-Léognan that was brought up 5-8 months on fine lees in neutral barrels. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has plenty of richness and texture, a solid spine of acidity, and a good finish. It's going to shine on the dinner table or paired with a cheese course. Drink bottles over the coming 3-4 years. Drink 2026-2030.

A blend of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2023 Bastor-Lamontagne emerges as a vivid expression of the vintage. It offers a lively, gourmand and fresh bouquet of apricot, baked pineapple, spices and cédrat. Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and almost creamy in texture, it is finely balanced, with well-integrated acidity and a subtle note of rôti that lends a touch of gastronomic bitterness, carrying through to a fresh, appetizing finish.

The 2023 Bastor-Lamontagne has a gorgeous nose, very pure, with honeysuckle, wild peach and quince aromas that soar from the glass. Fine delineation. The palate is well balanced, with a viscous entry, a keen line of acidity, focused and poised, with a tangy and sustained finish. Superb. A Sauternes clearly on its uppers.

The 2023 Bastor-Lamontagne was impressive from barrel. Now in bottle, this has an attractive and intense yellow plum-, lemon curd- and saffron-scented bouquet. The palate is balanced with a creamy textured opening, lovely apricot notes and a deft touch of spice toward the finish. What an absolutely delicious Sauternes! Tasted at the château.
