Tasting notes
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a slight reduction that dissipates with aeration. There is plenty of attractive, pure red fruit here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, black cherry and blueberry fruit with a well-defined, quite mineral-driven finish. This is very pretty and very promising. This will have 12-15 years drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a highly perfumed and floral bouquet with pressed violets and incense infusing the dark cherry and boysenberry fruit. Superb precision and focus here. The palate is medium-bodied with a creamy texture, one of the more sensual and velvety of the domaine’s 2018s, and the harmonious, seductive, almost creamy finish is irresistible even at this early stage. Superb.
One of the highlights of the range this year is the 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots, a lovely wine in the making that wafts from the glass with scents of cassis, plums and woodsmoke mingled with dark chocolate and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with fine concentration and attractive energy that distinguishes it as especially promising. The finish is long and perfumed.
