Tasted at Château Rauzan-Gassies. The 2009 Bel-Orme Tronquoy de Lalande has a tertiary bouquet that needs more fruit intensity. The palate is medium-bodied, a little raw on the entry, some decent fruit behind it but just distracted by the rather herbaceous finish. Drink now. Tasted June 2015.

60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. Stemmy like 2004 burgundy. Really odd on the nose – green/stemmy and something a bit like tamarind. Hard and green on the palate. (JH)
Cru bourgeois. Sweet, scented nose. Light and a bit too austere. Very solid and St-Estèphe-like in its acidity. (JR)
About the producer
The Quié family purchased Pauillac Fifth Growth Ch. Croizet-Bages in 1942, adding Rauzan-Gassies four years later. Once part of the same estate as the neighbouring Rauzan-Ségla, this Margaux property was split off in time for the 1855 Classification, earning Second Growth status.
