Tasting notes
The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru saw some protection with candles in the vineyard during frost, though still there was partial loss. The nose opens with redcurrant and light blueberry scents, a touch of incense. The 30% stems is neatly integrated. The palate is well balanced with fine grip, quite taut and linear, chalky, building towards quite a tensile finish though maybe without quite the sustain of the very best examples from this Grand Cru. Yet it is still a very capable Echézeaux that will deliver the goods for 15 to 20 years.

The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru is very charming, bursting with scents of orange rind, smoky berries, spices and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with supple tannins, ripe acids and an expansive finish, it will offer a long drinking window.
