Tasting notes
From older vines and a steep, granitic hillside just outside the village, the 2020 Condrieu Côteau De Vernon always offers another level of complexity and depth over the other releases here. Orange blossom, honeyed minerality, brioche, white flowers, and spice are just some of its nuances, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish. While 2020 was a hot, extreme year, this is pure and has a terrific sense of freshness and outstanding length. Beautifully done, it ranks with the top handful of Condrieu in this report.

100% Viognier. Aged 12–18 months in barrel (25% new oak). Organic.Pale gold. Subtle but intense with just a glimmer of the aromatic potential. Creamy, confit and stone-fruit nuance. Palate pure, layered and textural. Surprising lift, zest and freshness. Clean, dry and long. Lovely balance. (JL) 17.5/20 Points
