Tasting notes
The 2010 Barbaresco Gaiun is expressive and beautiful in the glass. Rose petal, sandalwood, cedar, spices and mint are all laced together in a hugely appealing, mid-weight Barbaresco long on class. The 2010 brings together a classic sense of structure, but with great mid-palate density and resonance. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco and mint add the final layers of nuance on a finish that shows a little more tenderness with time. There is plenty to look forward to here.

(raised entirely in barriques, one-third new): Good bright red. Perfumed scents of currant, menthol and flowers. Silky, rich and sexy, with red berry flavors complicated by white peach and watermelon qualities, along with a suggestion of amaro. Very supple in the middle palate but the tannins are firm.
