Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,404 g. Hand picked, sorted grapes. Aged 21 months in French barriques (29% new). Coarse filtration and no fining. Just 1,905 bottles produced. Bright mid crimson. Already some savoury maturity on the nose. Extremely dry and delicate on the palate. Really rather ethereal. It's so delicately balanced, you could drink this now but I'd expect it to take on even more lustre after some time in bottle. A bit Jamet-like. (JR)

The 2020 Syrah is an elegant, fine, vibrant wine. It leads with a primal red grape purity. It is unfettered, alpine fresh and layered with boysenberry, cassis, bramble, green olive tapenade and green peppercorns. In the mouth, it is all silky flow and seamless texture; the wine is supple and light-footed, with matcha, tobacco, blueberry and white peppercorns. What a beauty this is. Syrah made by a Japanese Pinot maker, indeed. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under 54-millimeter natural cork.
