This lively vintage is less fruit forward than the 2019 and 2020, yet still delivering juicy black fruits and cherries, a pleasing note of undergrowth adds complexity, grippy tannins, and medium body. Ageing 12 months in stainless steel vats, no oak.

The 2021 Château Cap De Faugères is juicy and lively, with medium-bodied aromas and flavors of savory red fruits, dried herbs, tobacco, and a kiss of chalky minerality. It's nicely balanced, elegant, and lively.

The 2021 Cap de Faugères has not really developed on the nose since I tasted it from barrel, showing dark plummy fruit that just lacks a bit of brightness. The palate is more engaging with cedar-infused red fruit, though the finish still feels a bit short and hard at the moment.

The 2021 Cap de Faugères is a tasty red from Silvio Denz. Dark cherry, licorice, dried herbs and coffee lend nuance to this inviting, entry-level offering.
