Tasting notes
Pouring a jeweled ruby hue, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Luce is pretty and expressive on the nose, with violets, blue fruit, Amarena cherry, blackberries, and sweet herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied and vertical, with terrific tension, mouthwatering salinity, and bright acidity framing its ripe tannins. It’s already beautifully balanced but should only improve with time in bottle. Drink 2026-2046.

Good typicity, skillful construction, more muscular than the other Brunellos in the lineup perhaps, imbued with the house style of Luce, but this is a lovely wine, food friendly with a ton of depth. Can drink now but can age. Alessandro Marini director and winemaker.
Dark red/magenta in color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is sappy and perfumed with decadent aromas of blackberry compote, sweet cedar, polished leather, and crushed lavender. It is full-bodied but has a nice snap of tension through the mid-palate and finish, with mouthwatering acidity and a good deal of length. Robust upfront, with velvety tannins and a salty finish, it will benefit from another year in bottle and drink well over the following 10-12 years.
Lustrous mid ruby. Concentrated pure cherry with notes of exotic spice and cardamom. Polished and juicy with a eucalyptus note on the finish. Very long. International polish and with plenty of acidity and crunchy tannins which will allow it to age gracefully. (WS)
